wine Blanket Fetish

If I've ever spent the night at your house you probably know that I have one blanket - the "iron blanket" - that I generally take with me everywhere.

I do this because it is the best blanket.

Ever.

In fact, however, I own three blankets. And yes, I love my blankets. Each is special in its own way. Blankets come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors, and weights that they are like people, each with his own personality. Alas, we look at the blanket with such mundane regard, as a mere tool, when in truth finding the right blanket can add immeasurably to one's "little things" contentment. Some blankets are also better for some situations than others - it's important to use the right blanket in a given situation, whether it's sleeping through the night, taking a nap, or sitting on the couch watching a movie (you'd be surprised at how much better that movie is with the right blanket.)

How do you know when you have found the perfect blanket? I can only tell you this - you will feel a sense of cozy happiness on the inside rivaled only by using the ideal cup or watching the truly great movie. :-)

The garnet chenille throws on our sofas can make life worth living again on iffy days. But the blankie that really puts the world back on its axis is my big ivory polarfleece. Yum.

Oh no no no. My blanket....ah, a wonder of a blanket it is. I live through the winter with it around my shoulders, and (as you may recall) it has even appeared in one of my poems, although in a rather minor roll. It is as thoroughly atrocious looking as a wonderful blanket should be (it's a nasty greyish yellow with black crocheted edges-- ick!) and it's so warm....

Oh yes I love it...

I LOVE blankets too...and I recently discovered my all-time favorite one...I have no idea what the fabric is called, but it's great! One of the warmest I've ever used!

And you're SO right...a movie ("the truly great movie") is so much better with the right blanket!

Yes. I must agree with everything that you say. Though I have a blanket that fills all purposes that you stated. I've used it as my covering when I sleep, during the excellent movie time, napping, and so forth. People try to steal this blanket. Yes, even you Dan and especially my mother. She was quite sad when I packed it and brought it with me to Murfreesboro. It's the blanket that my aunt crocheted for my high school graduation present. Ahh....I love that blanket. :o)
