The Job (or, Fedaudrey Kingsleeps)

Wow.

I feel the love. Thirty-one comments and counting. It's enough to make me even ashamed for posting so infrequently.

I have the best friends in the world. :-) Seriously though, people, thanks for the indication of interest in my little world.

Much as I would love to take Frank's idea and go for 100, life should move on. And I did kind of tell Rebecca that at thirty I would post again. So here I am.

You may notice that it's 4:30 in the morning. This is because tonight... last night... however exactly one would classify it... was my first night of work at FedEx. It wasn't bad at all, really. Tonight I spent loading "cans" - large containers of various sizes (like 10x15x10-ish) that are filled with packages and then loaded onto the airplanes for transport. It's kind of like packing a car for a long trip - or maybe a short trip with a lot of girls.... (ok, ok, I know that wasn't fair. the fact is most of my girl friends are pretty conservative luggagers) only much much bigger. I think it may get a little mentally boring at times, but other than that it looks like it will be a peach of a part time job, and I'm thankful to have it. Meanwhile it looks like I'll be getting an internship in the creative department of Sossaman and Associates, an advertising agency here in Memphis. Things have been falling into place; God is good.

Right before I left for work tonight for some unknown reason I felt this ineluctable urge to watch an Audrey Hepburn movie.......

Yep, it's definitely still there. I dont' know what in the world brought that on. In any case, I considered watching one when I got home from work at 3:30 am, but decided I ought not. Soon.

One last little note. For the trip to Nashville this weekend (good times guys, by the way. Great to see you all, as always. Dee you rock my socks like phlox in a box. I hope each of my friends gets to hear you sing at least in their lifetime.)

Yeah, soo.......

Oh, yes, for the trip I checked out from the library an audio book by Stephen King called Hearts in Atlantis. Some of you may have seen the movie. Not a bad flick, actually. Now I've never read any of the scary stories for which ole Steve is so famous, but let me tell you, the man can definitely write. This really is a fantastic story; intriguing, entertaining, painful, difficult,
heart-warming, a little mysterious, and most definitely not fluffy. Oh, he also wrote The Shawshank Redemption. Bet ya didn't know that, did ya, huh, huh?

Ok I'm going to bed now.

And darn it all if it isn't just getting colder.

Well, I didn't comment on the last post on principle. But there are no comments on this post, so here I go.

Comment, comment comment.

Well, I definitely agree that Deidra is awesome. Not a loser in any way. No sir.
I have to admit that I've read quite a few Stephen King books, but I had to stop reading them a few years ago, b/c they're scary. You're right, though -- he's a fantastic story teller.
Now, I have a sudden urge to watch a Steven Segal movie . . . I hope this moment passes quickly.

I see Jen is retracted her comments again. Stick with what you say, woman, or nobody will ever believe anything you say.

whoa. that was profound!

Wait, Jen, did you mean 'Stephen King' movie? If you did mean Stephen Segal I applaud you - not because he's worth much as an actor - but, well, I don't know, because Jeff and I will give you even more cool points than you already have now.
