Well everybody, I'm excited to report that we have finished recording (and well on our way to finished mixing) the songs for our hymn album, The Child of Grace. You can read all about the album on our new site, www.theChildofGrace.blogspot.com
A quick summary and a few personal notes... for those of you who didn't know about this project, about (how long ago, Tommy?) my good friend Tommy Sacran was burdened to produce a hymn album, as he has in his Christian experience been particularly blessed by such albums. He asked me to sing the songs, recording each part and mixing them together, and through the God's providence Bro. Dewey Cooksey also became involved. Bro. Dewey has experience in recording, as well as excellent equipment, and has done all of the recording and mixing.
Tommy had a particular message or "feel" he wanted to bring with the album, and has spent a tremendous amount of thought and even more prayer in the selecting of the songs and the order in which to arrange them. For my own part, it's just been a privilege and blessing to sing these rich hymns that I love so much, and a lot of fun besides. Looking back, now especially, I can see God's hand in the work from beginning to where we are now - almost the end.
We've set up a blog site where you can read all about the album - I would encourage everyone when you have time to read the section by that name. Tommy describes his experience with how this came about. But I have no doubt that you will also be both touched and blessed as you read. I certainly was, and I already knew about most of what he wrote.
You can also see the list of songs included on the album and even download and listen to a few.
I'll leave the rest of the explaining for you to read on The Child of Grace blog site. It's all there. Please do read everything, and please do email us if you have any comments. We're excited about how the work is progressing and look forward to giving you each a copy!
